Billingual Tax Officer

Mission of the Job:

    
Manage all the Taxes related jobs- properly and efficiently; Under the hierarchical authority of Tax Manager

Main activities:

    
Monthly preparation of working liability and making payments after approval.
    
Monthly monitoring of VAT recoverable of various companies in Cameroon.
    
Filing the application for VAT validation after collating of all the documents from Finance Managers.
    
Follow up for VAT refund with the Tax Department, and escalate the matter with senior management if the refunds are unduely delayed.
    
Filing of declarations with Exchange Control Department for various FX Remittance (inward and outward) received or made by various companies in Cameroon.
    
Determining and advising the Finance & Accounts department with respect to the eligibility of claiming VAT refunds while booking the vendor's invoices in the system.
    
Advising the Finance & Accounts department the exact% of WHT to be deducted while booking the vendor's invoices in the system.
    
Assisting Tax Manager in various Tax Controls and Non-Tax Controls (Mines & Industry Controls, Weights and Measurement Controls, Inter-Ministerial Controls etc.)
    
Attending the queries of various vendors regarding the Tax Matters (mainly related to WHT and VAT).
    
Maintaining cordial relations with Government Authorities and attending the matters without undue delays.
    
Prepare and provide, to various vendors, the attestation of deduction from source.
    
Assisting the Tax Manager for Annual Renewal of Tax Payer Cards, Quitus Fiscal, Import & Export Licenses, and Factory licenses.
    
Tax-Health Check on periodic basis.

Required profile:

Qualification: Minimum Master Degree in Accounting option Taxation

Language (s): Fluency in French and English; Knowledge of English is a Must.

Software (s): Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel.
