The overall objective of this consultation is to improve the work space, train staff in optimal positions to induce staff to adopt ergonomic practices and postures based on their functions, workstation, equipment put at their disposal, the layout of the workspace and other parameters and obtain good ergonomics adapted to the characteristics of each individual.

Purpose of the Assignment
The overall objective of this consultation is to improve the workspace, train staff in optimal ergonomic positions to induce staff to adopt ergonomic practices and postures based on their functions, work equipment available to them, the layout of the workspace and any other parameters and obtain a good ergonomics adapted to the characteristics of each individual.
1- Perform an assessment of the seating positions of each staff, the layout of the offices in relation to existing and used equipment, assessment of physical posture, etc.) with regard to minimum standards and universal working conditions;
2- Develop an individualized plan to prevent and reduce occupational health risks, improve posture and postures and make recommendations (including gestures, posture and bodily attitudes, etc.);
3- Propose effective strategies in terms of services, activities and products that could improve the physical health and position of offices and staff;
4- Make recommendations to the UNICEF office regarding the improvement of postures and the layout of the work area and staff facilities with the support of the Staff Association to ensure their implementation at the end of the year;
5- The development of an adapted standard booklet relating to good practices to observe.
1- Overall Assessment Report on Work Ergonomics in Yaoundé Office and Zone Offices 30%
2- Plan developed following the individual sessions with each staff relating to the evaluation of their positions, use of offices, positions etc. 30%
3- Training session for all staff on ergonomics (including the staff of the zone offices); 10%
4- Detailed report on recommendations and solutions; 20%
5- The development of a standard booklet adapted to the good practices to observe 10%
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
1- Knowledge of ergonomics, occupational health, or any other ergonomic related discipline;
2- Expertise in ergonomic equipment and the development of a practical manual for staff to guide and advise staff on ergonomic good practices;
Years of experience experience
1- 5 years of minimum professional experience in the field with a solid general and scientific knowledge and knowledge in ergonomics.
2- Experience established in the field of ergonomics of work and organizations, through an experienced person with at least 5 years experience in this type of service;
3- Previous experience with other organizations. Having already worked with a United Nations agency will be an asset and have conducted this activity in international organizations.
Competencies of Successful Candidate
1- Good ability to speak in English; knowledge of French.
2- Presentation of the methodology to provide this service with the resume of the consultant and previous experience.
CONDITIONS OF WORK
The consultant will work in Yaoundé for 5 days for an evaluation at the UNICEF office in Yaoundé, followed by a five-day field mission to the UNICEF zone offices in Bertoua and Maroua. (3 days for evaluation and one-on-one sessions and 2 days for a training session and reporting by office)
10 days to prepare the final global report with recommendations to the office, plan developed and booklet.
