Introduction:

As Project Officer, you will provide essential support to all projects, working closely with other team members to achieve project success. You will be required to work in almost every department or program – anywhere that projects are undertaken. Your exact responsibilities will vary by project, industry and target client, but will form a key component of Project Management. As Project Officer, you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

 

Who Are We Looking For?

In line with our Young Graduate Program, TheGateway is looking for a Proactive, Fast Learner and Multi-tasker with excellent problem solving, change management and analytical skills and a Cheerful Attitude.

He/she should be able to closely coordinate, control and supervise key projects both for clients and the organization itself. Your key responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set and respect deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project implementation. Prepare reports for top management regarding status of projects and project related activities.

The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope, time and budget. He/she will coordinate with other departments/programs to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and will hire new talent as needed to fulfil client/project needs. Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of other project related team members. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to project accomplishments.

  • Organize Project Meetings: On a regular basis, the Project Officer will meet with the CEO, Operations Lead and Programs Coordinators to review progress and to discuss future steps. The Project Officer also arranges meetings with the members of the project, organize and setup appropriate meeting/training room/venue and any refreshments, contact the attendees and note any who can’t attend. Before the meeting/training, they send out any relevant information/adverts, and they attend each meeting to take minutes.

  • Maintain Documents: The Project Officer is responsible for maintaining crucial project documents which track project progress. Must file all project documents (concept notes, action plans, reports etc.) in an appropriate database or library (online and offline), and ensure that all documents are accurate and up to date.
  • Troubleshooting Risks: Being so closely involved in the project, the Project Officer is expected to identify any potential issues or risks that could affect the progression of the project. You should communicate these items to Management, and work to identify and troubleshoot/mitigate potential solutions.
  • Manage the Schedule: As Project Officer, you will closely watch the project schedule, monitoring deadlines for each project task, check regularly that every deadline is still possible, and report any potential delays to Management.

 

What We Require:

  • At least Higher National Diploma (HND) or bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Project Management, Accounting, Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • GCE (O/A Level) Technical in Accountancy or Baccalaureate in G2 Option will be an added advantage.
  • An analytical thinker with excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and presentation skills, multi-tasking ability who can cope in a high volume, fast-pace work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently, committed to set and meet goals, and ability to work under pressure with little or no supervision.
  • Thorough familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and project scheduling computer applications (if possible).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or task with priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot, and to meet close deadlines
  • Willingness to learn project formulation and design, budgeting and financial management.

Work Location Online with availability for field assignment as need arises.
